Aar Ya Paar, a new Hotstar Specials just got its full length trailer and release date. After revealing the first look during Disney+ Day in September, Disney+ Hotstar has now unveiled expanded plot details for the Aditya Rawal-led series, which follows a tribesman’s quest for revenge against the forces of the modern world. The quaint lifestyle of a primitive village is being disrupted by townspeople intent on mining uranium for profit and waging hideous war against the tribe. This sets off a back and forth rampage between both parties, with our protagonist even embarking on an adventure across the globe to seek revenge. Aar Ya Paar releases December 30 on Disney+ Hotstar.
The trailer for Aar Ya couple begins with an introduction to the tribal village of Degohati and our protagonist Sarju (Rohal) who jumps from waterfalls and chases fish. “Every single tree, every single creature coexists with us in harmony,” an unseen narrator referred to the villagers. “The only thing they’re afraid of is the demon across the river.” This, of course, refers to the people who live in the city — the modern world — who have been circling the woods, in, for a while hoping to extract valuable minerals. “Do you see this area? I want this whole country.” Ashish Vidyarthis (Rudra: The edge of darkness) character says and presumably leading the excavation mission in the forest. Unfortunately for him and his crew, the tribe hates outsiders, especially those who interfere with the well-being of the ecosystem.

In fact, this leads to death in the community, causing the tribe’s warriors to remain on high alert, anticipating a direct attack in the future. Although not specifically mentioned, Patralekha (City Lights) appears to be playing some sort of medic who offers to help victims affected by the pollution. “Let’s add a twist to the story. Let’s make things interesting,” says Vidyarthi, as a group of mercenaries armed with modern weapons lead an attack on the village and its residents. “Take me there, to these people,” Sarju asks the field worker, who now has even more patients to look after.
The Aar Ya Paar trailer is then cut to show a montage of battle sequences as Sarju uses the tools and skills he has honed over the years in the forest to exact revenge on those who have hurt his family. “Who is behind these murders? Who is planning this?”, a clueless policeman played by Sumeet Vyas (Yugaadistan) says whose teammates are also being hunted. Helping Sarju in his crusade is Dibyendu Bhattacharyas (rocket boy) Character who is happy to have found his “Eklavya”. It’s his voice in the phone call we heard during the opening segments of teasers, from back in September. “The people who destroyed the jungle, I know them all,” he says to Sarju. “But you have to promise me that you will kill them all.”

Hotstar Specials Aar Ya Paar is a story centered around a unique collision brought about by the human spirit and survival in a world of greed and power,” showrunner and producer Sidharth Sengupta said in a prepared statement. “The series has multiple character arcs, nuanced storytelling, and brilliant actors telling the story.” Aar Ya Paar also stars Aasif Sheikh (Bharat), Shilpa Shukla (Chak De! India), Varun Bhagat and Nakul Sehdev.
Aar Ya Paar premieres on December 30th Disney+ Hotstar.
