Oppo has joined the burgeoning tri-fold smartphone market with a new concept unveiled by Zhou Yibao, Product Manager of the Oppo Find N Series. The concept, shared via a now-deleted Weibo post, reveals a device featuring a triple display design connected by a dual-hinge mechanism. This innovative design allows the handset to fold and unfold into three distinct sections, each with minimal bezels for a sleek appearance.
The Oppo tri-fold smartphone boasts a refined aesthetic with a white faux leather back and a chrome chassis, setting it apart from competitors. The render suggests that the device may utilize an under-display camera sensor, as none of the displays show a hole-punch cutout for the front camera.
This reveal positions Oppo as the second company to showcase a tri-fold smartphone in recent days. Following Tecno’s debut of the Phantom Ultimate 2 at the IFA conference in Berlin, which features a 6.48-inch cover display and a 10-inch LTPO OLED inner display, Oppo’s concept brings further excitement to the foldable market. Tecno’s device also employs a dual-hinge mechanism and has undergone rigorous testing for durability.
Oppo’s tri-fold concept highlights the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of smartphone design, offering a glimpse into the future of foldable technology.
