Twitter has rolled out a few new features for its paying subscribers. The microblogging site prioritizes its paying subscribers while ranking on searches, mentions, and replies. This means their comments and interactions are reportedly more visible to other users compared to the non-paid members. Additionally, Twitter recently introduced the ability to upload videos up to 60 minutes long for Twitter Blue subscribers. Twitter CEO Elon Musk promised to bring the Priority feature last month in November. He said it will help defeat spam/scams.
According to details on the About Twitter Blue side, Twitter Blue subscribers now get priority replies over others with better visibility. However, the microblogging site has not provided details on how it will actually work in the case of spam, the report said.
In addition, the microblogging site too announced the ability to upload 60-minute videos for its paying users. The feature is currently only available on the Twitter web and hasn’t rolled out to iOS or iOS yet Android applications. According to the details Shared allows Twitter Blue subscribers to share a video up to 60 minutes long at 1080p resolution to the web. The video should be under 2GB in size. Previously, the limit only allowed uploading a 10-minute video under 512MB.
In the first half of December Elon Musk restarted the Twitter Blue subscription service after suffering an embarrassing spate of fake accounts on the first try. The first attempt came just 10 days after Musk’s $44 billion (nearly Rs.3,63,900) acquisition of the platform, followed by a round of mass layoffs.
The Twitter Blue subscription for iOS costs $11 (nearly Rs. 910) per month, while web users pay $8 (nearly Rs. 660) per month. Paid subscription gives early access to select features like Edit Tweet and other latest features.
