Twitter, the Elon Musk-owned platform that is accelerating its efforts to compete side-by-side with social media giants like Instagram and Facebook, is introducing a new change. Beginning Wednesday, June 7, Twitter Blue subscribers will have one hour to edit previously posted tweets, a window that was limited to just 30 minutes since the feature launched in October 2022. Elon Musk, the current owner and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the microblogging app, aims to drive more capital into the company by offering the most popular Twitter user experience over the years as part of its Twitter Blue subscription offers requested functions.

The official report of Twitter blue posted an announcement to its 571,000 followers on Wednesday, confirming that paying subscribers do indeed have an hour before they miss a chance to edit a tweet that is posted.

The editing option for tweets was already one of the most frequently requested functions by Twitter users Jack Dorsey was CEO of the social networking company he founded in 2006.

If Musk has taken over Twitter Last year, he decided to bring special features to Twitter’s paid subscription – the Twitter Blue service – for US$44 billion (approx. Rs.3,63,110 million) that would entice users to buy this service for US$8 (approx 900 rupees) per month.

The billionaire’s goal was clear — to pour more money into Twitter’s coffers, which were previously not seeing enough profits. As part of an internal restructuring process, Musk eventually laid off a large portion of Twitter’s global staff to balance the platform’s financial position and reduce costs.

At that time, the published tweet editing feature was rolled out for Twitter Blue subscribers.

However, Musk’s tactic of getting more paying subscribers doesn’t seem to be working as expected.

Citing a newsletter from its editor, Alex Heath, The Verge reported that several Twitter Blue subscribers have complained that some features of the package are not working.

Additionally, Twitter Blue’s reduced ads feature, which has been heavily promoted since February of this year, has not yet rolled out.

However, the social networking platform has added more features to customize the service to user preferences.

In May, for example, Twitter announced that it would give its users access Picture-in-Picture mode for videos, so you can easily scroll down the timeline without waiting for the video to stop playing.

Previously the social networking platform announced the introduction of the encrypted DMs feature, aimed at securing messages exchanged via Twitter DMs.
