Twitter Launches View Counting Feature for Tweets: Full Details

Twitter finally rolled out a view count for tweets starting December 22nd. Elon Musk confirmed the feature’s launch via tweet. The new feature allows users to see the actual number of views on their tweets. This feature is already available for videos on the platform. Earlier this month, Musk promised to roll out this new feature, and it’s now live for all users. The microblogging service also recently launched Twitter for Business updates that brought square profile pictures for brands.

According to Elon Musk’s tweet, View Count for tweets allows users to see how many times a tweet has been viewed. He said that this new feature is normal for videos. He also said that it will also show how much more alive Twitter is as it might seem, as more than 90 percent of users read a tweet but don’t retweet, reply, or like it.

In another tweet, he divided that tweets are read more than 100 times more than they are liked.

In particular, the number of views of tweets will be visible to everyone, not just the account owner. The function is currently available on iOS and Android applications. It is also available in the web version. From now on, the number of views will only be displayed for new tweets and not for older ones.

Meanwhile, Twitter has too introduced new Blue for Business subscription. It will allow businesses and users to stand out with square profile pictures for brands. Blue for Business’ new features also allow businesses to link their affiliated people, businesses and brands to their accounts. Once linked, connected users’ accounts will receive a small badge with their parent company’s profile picture next to their verification badge.

Brands have a gold tick, while people associated with the brand have a blue tick. For now, however, the feature is only rolling out to a limited number of companies and will be released to more companies next year.
