Twitter support revealed that the latest version of the application for iOS and Android smartphones now remembers which “tab” the user last selected. After closing and reopening the app, Twitter always shows the last used tab first. Twitter rolled out the same functionality for its web platform in early January. Twitter CEO Elon Musk reassured users last month that an upcoming update will reverse the default For You tab. “The next Twitter update will remember if you’ve been on For You (i.e. Recommended), Following, or a list you made, and stop flipping you back to Recommended Tweets,” he said.

in one tweet To explain the changes, Twitter support urged users to install the latest version of the Twitter app so the app will remember when you use theFor her or Following Feed and open this tab the next time you open the app. The company has also confirmed that the update is now available for Twitter on iOS and Android.

In a January update Twitter split the home page into two tabs: For her And Following. The latter acts as a regular timeline of the accounts you follow, with tweets in chronological order while the For her Tab displays tweets recommended by the company’s algorithms. The update removed the ability to set the Following tab as the default.

Later this month, Twitter rolled back this functionality for its web interface. Twitter CEO Elon Musk took note of the criticism of the timeline feature change and assured Users that an upcoming Twitter update would revert the changes.

Musk also teased that Twitter will directly translate and endorse tweets from users in other countries in the coming months, and that the tweets will be translated before being endorsed to users. Recently also Musk announced that Twitter will start sharing ad revenue with several of its content creators.
