Twitter will begin sharing ad revenue with some of its content creators, Chief Executive Elon Musk said Friday.

Starting Friday, earnings from ads appearing in a creator’s reply threads will be shared. The user must be a Blue Verified subscriber, musk called.

However, Musk did not provide any information on the proportion of earnings to be shared with users.

Twitter has seen advertisers flee worries about Musk’s approach to content moderation rules, which is impacting revenue.

Days after taking over the helm of the company, Musk said Twitter had seen a “massive” drop in revenue and accused activist groups of pressuring advertisers.

As Twitter’s CEO, Musk has focused on cutting costs and rolling out new plans for the Twitter Blue subscription service, which offers the coveted “verified” badge.

Separately, Musk said on Friday that the old Blue Verified would be scrapped in a couple of months as it was “deeply damaged.”

A few days ago, it was reported that the microblogging site is working to introduce payments on the social media platform. According to a news report, Twitter has started seeking regulatory licenses for the process.

Since his acquisition, Musk has pushed Twitter to seek new revenue streams. The company was forced to purchase the company for $44 billion (approx.

Musk also previously stated that the Twitter acquisition was part of a master plan to create “The Everything App.” This app would offer social networking, peer-to-peer payments and e-commerce shopping, according to the billionaire.
