WhatsApp may soon roll out its “Call Link” feature for Windows users. The app was spotted testing this new feature with some beta testers in the latest WhatsApp beta update for Windows 2.2307.1.0. The call link feature allows users to create and send a call link to their contacts and invite them to a video or audio call. The feature was previously introduced for WhatsApp for Android. And now it’s reportedly being introduced in WhatsApp’s latest beta app for Windows.

according to a report From WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo, Meta’s messaging service has begun rolling out the ability to create and share a call link for those invited to a video chat or audio call within the app. The feature is available for select beta testers in the latest WhatsApp Beta for Windows 2.2307.1.0 update. Whatsapp Users must download the latest version of the beta app from the Microsoft Store to access this feature.

The report also shared the screenshot of the above feature, showing an option to the “Create Call” link under the “Calls” tab on WhatsApp. Users can tap on it and then select the call type i.e. video call or voice call. A link is generated that users must share/copy and paste into the chats to invite people to join the call.

Each call link has a unique URL and only invitees can join the call after user approval. It becomes easier to invite people to a WhatsApp call even if they are not on the contact list. Notably, users can also share the call link outside of the app.

The Call Link feature is already available on WhatsApp for Android. Whatsapp rolled the call link function was already released in October 2022. The option to create a call link is available at the top of the Calls tab. Once created, the unique call link is valid for up to 90 days.
