WhatsApp Desktop Beta is working on feature to select multiple chats: report

WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that will allow users to manage their chats on the desktop app. Meta’s messaging service is testing the feature for a future update, which will allow them to select multiple chats at once and perform specific actions while using the web version of the app. WhatsApp currently only offers the option to select multiple chats in Android and iOS apps. Users can select multiple chats, mark them as read or unread, archive them, or delete them with a single command.

According to a WABetaInfo report, WhatsApp for Desktop Beta is working on a new feature that will allow users to select multiple chats for a future update. The report suggests that the feature will allow users to select multiple chats at once and mute all or mark them as read or unread. With the new update it will be easy to manage the chats Whatsapp for desk.

WABetaInfo shared a screenshot of the new feature, showing a new Select Chats option available in the dropdown menu. Specifically, this feature is currently under development and there is no confirmation as to the rollout date for it.

Meanwhile, the instant messaging platform is also included work another feature that allows users to report suspicious status updates on PCs or laptops in the desktop app. Any status that allegedly violates the Terms of Use is then checked. WhatsApp currently only offers the option to report suspicious messages or spam messages to the company to stop the spread of malicious content on the platform.

This new way of reporting status update features makes the instant messaging app even more secure. The reported status update is end-to-end encrypted as messages, voice calls, media, location sharing, calls and status updates are all protected by end-to-end encryption. The feature is also expected to roll out in WhatsApp Beta for Android and iOS in the future.
