According to a report, WhatsApp appears to be developing a new short video messaging feature. The alleged feature will allow WhatsApp’s estimated 2.24 billion users to record short video messages of up to 60 seconds to share with contacts in their chats. While the feature is in development, it cannot be tested by users in the beta update channel. However, a WhatsApp feature tracker has released details of the upcoming feature along with a preview of how it might work once it’s released.
Unlike the current long format videos supported on Whatsappthe new feature will prevent users from saving the video messages or forwarding them to other contacts who weren’t part of the original conversations, according to details divided from the feature tracker WABetaInfo.
This short video sharing feature is currently under development on the latest iOS beta version of the instant messaging app. These video messages are all end-to-end encrypted so that even WhatsApp and its parents cannot see them. Meta, according to WABetaInfo. It is currently unclear when WhatsApp will roll out the function.
