Airtel announced the launch of its 5G services in Visakhapatnam on Thursday. The New Delhi-headquartered company said Airtel 5G Plus services would be made available to customers gradually as the company continues to build out its network and complete the rollout. Customers with 5G-enabled devices will enjoy the high-speed Airtel 5G Plus network at no additional cost until the rollout is more widespread, Airtel said in a statement.
Currently operating in Dwarkanagar, Beach Road, Dhaba Gardens, Maddilapalem, Waltair Uplands, Purna Market, Gajuwaka JN, MVP Colony, Ramnagar, Railway Station Road, Tenneti Nagar and a few other locations, Airtel will expand its network and make its services available everywhere city in due course.
Shivan Bhargava, Chairman of the Board, Bharti AirtelAndhra Pradesh and Telangana, said: “I am very pleased to announce the launch of Airtel 5G Plus in Vizag. Airtel customers can now experience ultra-fast networks and enjoy speeds up to 20x to 30x faster than current 4G speeds.”
According to the statement, Airtel 5G Plus will strengthen the entire portfolio of services offered by Airtel. In addition, the telco said it would provide super-fast access to high-definition video streaming, gaming, multiple chats, instant photo uploads and more.
The telecom company also said it would help in education, healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, mobility and logistics.
For the past year, the company has claimed that it has demonstrated the power of 5G with a variety of powerful use cases that will transform the way we live our lives and do business.
On Wednesday, Airtel announced the launch of high-speed 5G services in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Imphal.
According to the provider, 5G connectivity is available at SG Highway, Memnagar, Satellite, Navrangpura, Sabarmati, Motera, Chandkheda, South Bopal, Gomtipur, Memco, Bapunagar in Ahmedabad and Koba, Raysan, Sargasan, Pethapur and other key locations in Gandhinagar.
In Imphal, customers can connect to the next-generation 5G network in the areas of Akampat, War Cemetery, Dewlahland, Takyelpat, RIMS Imphal, New Secretariat, Babupara, Nagaram, Ghari, Uripok, Sagolband and other select locations, Airtel said.
