Airtel launches 5G network services in Shimla

Airtel announced the launch of its 5G services in Shimla on Monday. The telecom company said its Airtel 5G Plus services would be available to customers in stages as the company continues to build out its network and complete the rollout. Customers with fifth-generation 5G-enabled devices will use the high-speed Airtel 5G Plus network at no additional cost until rollout is more widespread, the company statement said.

The service provider, which currently operates at Mall Road, Sanjoli, Dhalli, BhattaKufar, Ridge and Sanjoli Helipad and a few other select locations, said it will expand its network to make its services available across the city in due course .

At launch, Chief Executive Officer for Upper North Pushpinder Singh Gujral said: “Airtel Customers can now experience an ultra-fast network and enjoy speeds up to 20x to 30x faster than current 4G speeds. We’re about to light up the entire city so customers can enjoy super-fast access to high definition video streaming, gaming, multiple chats, instant photo uploads and more.”

Airtel will expand its network and make its services available across the city in due course, the company announced at the time.
