Jio has launched its True 5G services in Andhra Pradesh with the launch of the service in Tirumala, Visakhapatnam, Vijaywada and Guntur. Andhra Pradesh Information and Technology Minister Gudivada Amarnath and Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy unveiled the Jio True 5G and Jio True 5G Powered Wi-Fi services at an event here on Monday.
This was stated in a company announcement yo demonstrated the immersive benefits of 5G in healthcare through the Jio Community Clinic medical kit and the revolutionary AR-VR device Jio Glass.
“These benefits will bring phenomenal changes to the lives of the people of Andhra Pradesh,” it said.
Gudivada Amarnath, who is also Andhra’s Minister of Industry and Trade and Infrastructure and Investment, said 5G services would bring transformative benefits to the people of the state.
“I’m happy about the start Jio’s True 5G Services in Andhra Pradesh. 5G services will bring long-term transformative benefits to the people of Andhra Pradesh,” he said.
The minister said Jio 5G services will be available across the state by the end of next year.
“Besides her existing investment of Rs. 26,000 crore, Jio has additionally invested over Rs. 6,500 crore to build 5G network in Andhra Pradesh and this shows her immense commitment to the development of our state. By December 2023, Jio True 5G services will be made available in every city, Taluka, Mandalam and village of Andhra Pradesh,” he added.
Secretary-General KS Jawahar Reddy said the new service will open doors to growth opportunities in several areas, including e-governance, education and healthcare.
“With the launch of Jio’s True 5G services, Andhra Pradesh will not only get the best telecom network, but will also open doors to growth opportunities in e-governance, education, healthcare, IT and SME business,” he said.
“Jio True 5G will also enable citizens and government to stay connected in real-time and will also improve the implementation and efficiency of government systems to the last mile user. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has a special focus on the startup ecosystem and Jio’s advent of True 5G services will benefit the startups involved in new technologies such as; internet of things, Blockchain, Artificial intelligence, machine learning and data analysis. The advent of Jio True 5G will further propel these startups in Andhra Pradesh and give them wings to fly,” he added.
A Jio spokesman said the True 5G network will expand across the state in a short period of time.
“We are excited to launch Jio True 5G in Andhra Pradesh. The Jio True 5G network will expand across the entire length and breadth of the state in a short period of time. Jio engineers are working around the clock to bring the benefits of True 5G to all Indians, so the transformative power and exponential benefits of this technology can be experienced by every citizen of our great country.”
The spokesman thanked the Prime Minister of the State Jagan Mohan Reddy Garu and the State Government “for expanding their support for the digitization of Andhra Pradesh”.
The release help that Jio users in Tirumala, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Guntur will be invited to the Jio Welcome Offer starting December 26th, through which they can experience unlimited data at speeds up to 1Gbps and at no additional cost.
Other cities in the state will be 5G-ready by January 2023, it said.
