Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched True 5G services in Guwahati in Assam at an event in the town of Jio on Tuesday.
Next to his True 5G Services introduced in Guwahati, yo also began his true 5G-powered Wi-Fi services at the Maa Kamakhya temple complex in Guwahati on Tuesday, according to a statement from the telecom company.
The Prime Minister said apart from Jio’s existing investment of Rs. 9,500 crore, the company is additionally investing over Rs. 2,500 crore to deploy True 5G network in Assam.
According to the statement, the Prime Minister has been shown the transformative benefits of True 5G. Among the benefits of True 5G, healthcare was the chosen sector for this demonstration.
Apart from the launch, new solutions such as Jio Community Clinic medical kit, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) in healthcare will be offered JioGlassSmart health solutions such as teleradiology and connected ambulances were showcased during the event, Jio said.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said: “I am delighted to launch Jio’s True 5G service in Guwahati. I believe True 5G has the power to democratize healthcare infrastructure in Assam’s diverse geography… It has a simple design and can connect wirelessly to a range of medical devices over 5G. Healthcare workers, with the help of specialist physicians, can diagnose and treat patients even in Assam’s most remote locations.”
The CM added: “My government is fully committed to supporting the rapid rollout of 5G services in Assam. By implementing 5G-based healthcare solutions, we can fulfill our Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s vision of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission by building a digital healthcare ecosystem in the state of Assam.”
Aside from her existing investment of Rs. 9,500 crore, the Prime Minister said, “Jio is investing an additional Rs. 2,500 crore in building the True 5G network in Assam and this shows her immense commitment to the development of our state. By December 2023, Jio True 5G services will be available throughout Assam City and Taluka.”
According to the statement, Jio engineers have been working around the clock to bring True 5G benefits to every Indian so that the transformative power and exponential benefits of this technology can be experienced by every citizen.
As of Jan. 10, Jio said its users in Guwahati and seven other cities in four states of Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana and Maharashtra will be invited to the Jio Welcome Offer, which will give them unlimited data at speeds over 1Gbps without additional Experiencing costs can cost.
