My name is Massimo DiSabato. I’m the vice president of investor relations and marketing strategy for CommScope. We’re showcasing a variety of new products that are helping bridge the digital divide to help get the unconnected and underserved communities get high quality fiber broadband solutions. We have a variety of different products that use low labor or more flexible solutions for delivering fiber to the home, as well as some innovative new solutions for plug-and-play technologies.
We’re definitely the marquee sponsor at this year’s first Broadband Nations Expo. We’re really excited about being able to deliver these solutions to our customers to really help bridge that digital divide, helping deliver broadband access to rural and urban communities where they need it the most.
As an innovator in cable technologies for over 50 years, we’ve actually developed a very specialized use case for fiber optic cabling called HeliARC that is optimized for rural broadband deployments. Made in North Carolina and is fully optimized for delivering that low density population of fiber to the home deployments. And now that I’ve showed you some of our cabling solutions, come take a look at some of our connectivity solutions like Prodigy that help us deploy these solutions even faster than ever before.
Prodigy is a new small form factor connector technology that is about 33% smaller than the predecessor connector, but we’ve been able to develop this technology to make smaller, compact closures and also provide a lot more flexibility, a more sustainable solution with less waste, a reusable technology that can take your legacy platforms, and with a simple converter, we can actually change the connector type just by putting a new type of converter on it. So that allows our customers to have a little more flexibility in deploying their fiber to the home solutions.
We’re here to support a lot of our customers. Our customer base is really a mix of larger tier one customers, as well as the smaller customers that we help deliver these solutions to. Each one of our customers is different and special to us, so we have a variety of different solutions that help them with their very specific needs. Some require more plug-and-play technologies and others would require more flexibility in the way they deploy their fiber networks. As CommScope being in the business for over 50 years, we tried to provide those solutions for them as efficient as possible.
