Day to day, Dr. Bell dedicates her efforts to advocating for students, securing grant money and establishing relationships with academic partners for future programs.
Moreover, Dr. Bell’s role involves spending half of her time on accreditation, with the remainder divided between administrative work and collaborating with C-suite partners for strategic growth. In addition to her role at Griffin Health, Dr. Bell has served as a health care executive consultant for The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson since 2021. Dr. Bell’s expertise in nursing operations and professional practice is further demonstrated through her ongoing position as administrator of nursing professional practice and operations at Griffin Hospital, where she has overseen nursing policy for large health care systems since 2021.
Prior to her current roles, Dr. Bell served as the director of nursing professional practice, education and research at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center from 2016 to 2021 after holding the position of assistant director for nursing education and practice innovation at the same institution from the year before. Earlier in her career, she worked as a clinical nurse educator at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center from 2014 to 2015 and as a professor of nursing at Keiser University from 2012 to 2013. Dr. Bell holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing and a Clinical Nurse Specialist designation from Saint Joseph College.
In 2017, Dr. Bell earned a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Grand Canyon University. Overall, her educational background has been pivotal in her success, as it provided a strong foundation for her leadership roles and innovative contributions to nursing education. Along with her degrees, she holds a certification in nursing leadership, which complements her extensive experience in the field. Dr. Bell attributes her success to actively listening to students’ needs, staying informed through reading, networking and cultivating strong relationships across various industries.
Though she had no prior experience before stepping into her position as executive dean, Dr. Bell believes she found herself in this role because she was authentic, paid attention, listened and gave one hundred percent. Outside of her professional contributions, she volunteers at the soup kitchen at the Church of the Holy Trinity and participates in various charitable activities. Overall, her commitment to community service reflects her dedication to making a positive impact beyond her professional sphere.
Born in Seoul, Dr. Bell was adopted from an orphanage at the age of four and was raised in a Christian household. She values family deeply and enjoys experiencing new cultures, reading, gardening and spending time with her spouse, Jimi, as well as their daughter and her stepdaughter. From humble beginnings to her current position, Dr. Bell inspires others as she continues to create opportunities for underserved individuals through innovative educational programs that provide pathways for lifelong learning.
