With more than two decades of excellence in social work and mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques, Mrs. Wimbush has earned distinction as the host of PS10 Radio. Since 2017, she has focused her efforts on helping others with self-care and providing resources and information on parenting and selfcare, the topics on which her podcast is centered. She aims to help individuals by guiding them to take positive steps in their livto. She ensures she has innovative ideas that contribute to her field and engages in mentorship opportunities as well.
Outside of her work with PS10 Radio, Mrs. Wimbush has been a school social worker in the Grand Rapids Public Schools, teaching social-emotional skills to special education students, while collaborating with teachers and families since 2000. She has been a field instructor for Michigan State University since 2007 and is an author with Xlibris Co. She has also been the chief executive officer of Positive Steps10, LLC since 2014. Among her professional accomplishments, she was honored as Field Instructor of the Year for Michigan State University’s School of Social Work in 2017.
Prior to her current roles, Mrs. Wimbush served as a field instructor for Grand Valley State University in 2009 for two years. Before embarking on her professional journey, she earned as associate’s degree in psychology from Grand Rapids Community College in 1994. Following this achievement, she attained a bachelor’s degree in the same field of study in 1996 and a Master of Social Work in 2000, both from Western Michigan University.
Looking to the future, Mrs. Wimbush intends to retire from her role with the school system. She would like to transition to life coaching for self-care to improve overall well-being and prevent burnout and compassion fatigue. She hopes to continue her affiliation with Michigan State University’s School of Social Work in some capacity in the future.
