dr Frey has had a distinguished and diverse career in education, law enforcement and counseling spanning more than 45 years. After teaching elementary and high school education and serving more than five years as the administrator of a private Christian school, he spent more than two decades in higher education as a professor of religion at Newport University and a year as dean of Newport International University in Newport Wyoming. After that, Dr. Frey worked as a correctional officer at a local correctional facility before being hired by the Hagen Police Department in Hagan, Georgia, where he served as police chief for two years. dr Frey spent 22 years in law enforcement with various police departments before retiring.
After retiring from the police force, Dr. Frey thrived in the mental health field for three decades and then went into private practice in the state of Georgia specializing in substance abuse disorders, psychotherapy, depression and brief, solution-focused therapy. dr Frey frequently helped patients who had fallen through the cracks and were unable to get help with their addiction problems, and also treated individuals with various other mental health issues. In retirement, Dr. Frey continues to spend much of his free time providing free addiction counseling to those in need.
During the years of Dr. Frey as a police officer, he was particularly instrumental in keeping the streets safe by keeping lawbreakers away. Among his most notable accomplishments during his tenure was conducting a $65,000 drug arrest with the help of two informants after finding illegal substances in the back of a trailer home. Outside of his primary career goals as a psychiatrist, Dr. Frey also authored Clinical Counseling and Psychotherapy through AuthorHouse in 2012, which was a major professional achievement.
Socially, Dr. Frey provided his time and expertise as a consultant on behalf of the American Board of Disability Analysts in Nashville, Tennessee. He also volunteered for the Georgia State Defense Force, where he was responsible for vaccinating 120 people in a single day. In addition, Dr. Frey board member of the Georgia Baptist Convention. dr Frey notably served his country in the US Army for seven years.
dr Frey has a rich educational background. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Education from Immanuel Baptist College in 1976, followed by a Master of Art in Theology in 1977 and a Doctorate in Religious Education from Immanuel Baptist College in 1988. dr Frey also received a Master of Art in Counseling from Luther Rice College and Seminary in 1992, as well as several additional Doctorates in Biblical Philosophy, Sociology, and Christian Counseling from various institutions, and a Doctor of Education in Counseling and Administration from Immanuel Baptist College. His other educational pursuits include certifications as a certified addiction counselor, certification in addiction counseling, forensic counseling and sex addiction treatment, and board certification as a doctorate in addiction counseling from the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists and Psychodiagnosticians. In addition, dr. Frey has been an ordained pastor for 52 years.
As evidence of his success, Dr. Frey listed in the Cambridge England International Biographical Center’s international who’s who of intellectuals. He also received honorary doctorates in law and literature from the Christian Bible College.
