A recent Christmas Luncheon held at The Rosewood Hotel, London and organised by The Anderson Foundation, resulted in a donation of £26,000 to the charity New Life Special Care Babies. The prestigious event raised considerable sums which were donated to various charities across the UK.

Expressing profound gratitude, Mr Goodall, Founder and CEO of New Life, remarked, “The Anderson Foundation’s marvellous donation is truly exceptional. Such substantial contributions are rare, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to them. I want to acknowledge Mr. Steve Dopson, one of our Trustees, for facilitating this partnership, and express appreciation to the entire team at The Anderson Foundation for making it possible.”

New Life Special Care Babies is dedicated to financing specialised equipment for neonatal units across the UK, granting premature and special care babies access to state-of-the-art neonatal equipment for a stronger start in life. Some of the equipment provided by the charity is not covered by NHS funding.

The significant donation from The Anderson Foundation will be utilised to procure a neonatal ventilator for The Great Western Hospital in Swindon. Dr Sarah Bates, Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist emphasised, “The new ventilator will provide constant pressure during non-invasive respiratory support, reducing permanent lung injury for premature, sick, and vulnerable babies. This, in turn, will accelerate recovery, decrease overall bed days in the neonatal unit, and enhance long-term outcomes. Additionally, the ventilator will offer crucial support to sicker babies while awaiting transfer to a tertiary neonatal centre.”

Mark Anderson, Chairman of The Anderson Foundation added, “The Anderson Foundation is delighted to hear that the donation from our recent charity auction to New Life Babies has gone to great use, enabling the charity to purchase new equipment and continue with the much-needed support they offer neo-natal units around the UK.”

New Life Babies was established 26 years ago by Mr Goodall following the premature birth and subsequent loss of his twin boys. New Life has evolved from a one-time charity golf day into a continuous series of fundraising events.
