Despite challenges, such as meeting Nasdaq standards and changing auditors, the IPO raised over $1 billion and achieved a secondary offer. His leadership was crucial in enhancing corporate governance at XP by establishing separate board and executive roles.
Before joining XP Investimentos, Mr. Constantino was a partner at Graphus Capital from 2010 to 2012. He also served as a co-portfolio manager at Emerging Markets Management, based in Washington, D.C., in 2010, where he honed his skills in managing investments across diverse markets. His early career includes a decade-long tenure at BTG Pactual from 2000 to 2010, where he was the lead analyst and negotiator for two significant private equity investments in the energy sector. He was named a partner in 2004. He began his career at Icatu Investimentos, where he contributed from 1998 to 2000.
Mr. Constantino’s academic background includes a Master of Business Administration in executive finance from Ibmec in 2000 and a diploma in mechanical and industrial engineering from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro in 1998, which he completed in Brazil before immigrating to the United States. Additionally, he completed the Chief Financial Officer Leadership Program at Harvard Business School in 2021 and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.
Resilience is a core value for Mr. Constantino. He attributes both his personal and professional success to this trait and emphasizes it to his three children, encouraging them to face both failure and success with optimism. Outside of his professional life, Mr. Constantino enjoys skiing, playing tennis, practicing jiu-jitsu and watching soccer and American football.
