Ms. Turner, an accomplished accountant originally born in Chicago, has dedicated nearly 25 years to her profession. Currently, she is the owner and accountant at Biz Mercado + Pro Consulting, a role she has held since 2024, and is self-employed as an accountant, a position she has held since the start of her career in 2000. While working as a self-employed accountant for more than two decades, Ms. Turner served as the director of accounting at Brenwick Development Company and was associated with Arthur Andersen LLP through their business processing unit at Covance.
Throughout her career, Ms. Turner has received various internal recognitions for her contributions and dedication. Moreover, she has maintained her professional affiliation with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In tandem with her hands-on experience, Ms. Turner holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Rockford University, and, in 2024, she further enhanced her expertise by obtaining the Main Street Certified Tax Advisor certification from Mark J. Kohler.

Moreover, Ms. Turner takes immense pride in homeschooling her children for 15 years and witnessing their transition to college and independence. Through her homeschool A.R.K. adventures, she and her family donate gifts to dentists, hospitals and more. In all she has pursued and achieved, Ms. Turner attributes her success to her family, meticulous planning and unwavering determination, which have been instrumental in her professional growth and accomplishments. All in all, Ms. Turner enjoys a rich personal life filled with music, dancing, genealogy research and playing the violin—a passion she pursued for nearly a decade. Looking ahead, she is pursuing further education to become a Certified Public Accountant and is attending law school with aspirations of becoming a tax attorney. Additionally, Ms. Turner’s future goals include supporting her husband’s retirement and having the flexibility to live abroad for part of each year.
