DALLAS, TX, September 11, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Marquis Who’s Who, the world’s premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Carla Lewis with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Carla Lewis celebrates many years’ experience in her professional network and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Drawing on years of organizational management and leadership expertise, Ms. Lewis leverages her considerable knowledge as the founder and chief leadership strategist with CJL Innovations. Also known as The Change Portal, CJL provides businesses with tools, insights, and aids that help effectively manage business process change efforts. In addition to her work with CJL Innovations, Ms. Lewis consistently leverages her considerable expertise as a podcast host and contributing author in numerous publications.

An expert in her field, Ms. Lewis holds an associate degree in computer and data processing from Henry Ford College, a Bachelor of Arts in human resources management from Spring Arbor University, and a Master of Science in human resources and organizational development from American University. Over the years, she also furthered her industry knowledge by becoming a certified organizational change practitioner and a certified life optimization coach.

In conjunction with her work, Ms. Lewis has contributed to her community as a volunteer ESL (English as a second language) tutor and a mentor for numerous public sector and nonprofit organization leadership teams. In 1990, she also served as a founding board member for Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter, now Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit. While her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in discovering her true professional calling at Ford Motor Company. On a Monday morning in September 1979, she became driven to revolutionize how information technology was introduced and how business process change was implemented within organizations. In the ensuing years, she ascended the corporate ladder and ultimately ranked in the top two percent of her company before retiring. Another standout moment in Ms. Lewis’ career was establishing her consulting firm post-retirement and thus being approached by General Motors for a contract position. Ms. Lewis laughs now about how the contract turned into an employee relationship, leading her to become – in her own words – the oldest new hire in that company’s history.

Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, Ms. Lewis credits her success to her mother. Despite the societal norms at the time, her mother became a private pilot at 40, became a certified master mechanic, opened her own photography business leading her to serve both her local community and the City of Detroit as a credentialed police and fire photographer, and became an expert witness in local banking court cases. Looking toward the future, Ms. Lewis intends to empower leaders to be strong, savvy, and courageous in the face of change, because change is the single most dependable constant in business and leaders need to get it right every single time.
