Christos Photiou Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Law and International Trade

Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to accepting life’s challenges with dignity and gratitude.

Drawing on years of professional experience in comparative law, international trade, and education, Mr. Photiou excels as an attorney with the eponymous Photiou Legal & Consultation Services, specializing in veteran benefits, discharge upgrades, and social security matters. Due to his vast breadth of knowledge, he is currently founding a legal practice and launching a podcast. Before establishing his own consultancy, he gained valuable expertise in veteran benefits law as an attorney with Jackson & MacNichol and in special education law with James E. Brown & Associates, PLLC.

During the early stages of his career, Mr. Photiou honed his legal expertise through externships with the Fairfax County Circuit Court, the Cook County Circuit Court, and the Federal Public Defender Program for the Northern District Court of Illinois. Between 2002 and 2005, he also dedicated himself to his country as a lance corporal in the United States Marine Corps.

Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Photiou earned an Associate of Science in business administration from Northern Virginia Community College in 2008. Subsequently, he expanded upon his professional knowledge, earning a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from George Mason University, a JD from the University of Illinois, Chicago’s School of Law, and a certificate in military and veteran health, law, and advocacy from William & Mary Law School.

A proud Greek man, Mr. Photiou consistently raises funds for the National Hellenic Museum in Chicago and various other Greek organizations. For his military achievements, he has been honored with a Combat Action Ribbon, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, a National Defense Service Ribbon, a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and a Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (Iraq). Mr. Photiou also had the privilege of leading Iraqi police forces and contributing to the security efforts during the first Iraqi election. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to accepting life’s challenges with dignity and gratitude. Looking ahead, Mr. Photiou intends to pursue a political career with an eye toward societal harmony.
