Crystal Renee Perry Lauded by Marquis Who’s Who for Leadership as Educator, Trainer and Nonprofit Leader

    HAMPTON, GA, August 23, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Crystal Renee Perry has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Perry is recognized for her work empowering equity-focused and mission-driven organizations through targeted professional development, knowledge transfer and best practice sharing. She brings two decades of experience as an educator, professional development trainer and nonprofit leader to her organization, Melanated PEARL (Passionate Engaged Activists Resisting Limitations) Corporation, which she founded in 2018 to assist women to achieve economic stability and mobility.

Through the nonprofit organization, Ms. Perry strives to help Black women accomplish personal and professional success by providing a safe virtual space to seek advice and share stories of triumph. To date, Melanated PEARL Corporation has received several grants related to eviction prevention, homeless assistance, job coaching, and other areas. The organization has been featured in the local news for its contributions to the community and earned a Silver Award at the first Anthem Awards, which lauds the work of people, companies and organizations worldwide.

Ms. Perry began her career as an educator for Teach for America, then progressed to become the Project GRAD (Move It Math) facilitator, coach and AVID coordinator in Atlanta Public Schools where she was promoted to assistant principal. She is certified in K-12 leadership, elementary (k-4), math in middle school grades (4-8) through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. She later accepted a teaching position at Gideons Elementary School and went on to excel in various roles at BELL (Building Educated Leaders for Life), a Boston-based education organization. She concluded her seven-year tenure with BELL as senior director, professional development and quality. Ms. Perry is certified in women’s entrepreneurship through eCornell. She also serves as a diversity, equity and inclusion trainer through Consciously Unbiased, which provides DEI facilitation to businesses nationally and internationally.

Ms. Perry’s performance in the field was born of her academic journey, which began with a self designed Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies from Agnes Scott College. She went on to earn a Master of Arts in early childhood education from Georgia State University in 2003 and a Master of Arts in writing and digital communications and media from Agnes Scott College in 2020. While pursuing her second master’s degree, Ms. Perry was inspired to utilize multimedia platforms to combat the socioeconomic challenges faced by the African American community leading to the creation of MelanatedPearl.org

In addition to her work through Melanated PEARL Corporation, Ms. Perry is active in numerous civic pursuits. She is Vice Chair of the Clayton County Library Board of Trustees, a health and wellness co-chair with Women of Clayton County. She is a former member of the Clayton County Public Schools Budget Oversight Committee, communications manager for ONE Atlanta, and a past board member of The Collective Atlanta.
