Daniel is a prominent figure in the hospitality sector, recognized for his significant contributions and leadership in the South Florida region. With over 25 years of experience, he currently serves as the Area General Manager for Economos Properties, overseeing properties in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Sparks, NV. His portfolio, valued at over $65 million in revenue, includes 996 rooms and several hundred employees. Daniel is responsible for operational oversight, franchise management, and asset development, ensuring the continued success and growth of the properties under his leadership.

Daniel’s career began humbly in the late 1990s, working as a part-time PBX Operator and relief Front Desk Clerk. He advanced through various management roles at resort-branded hotels across Central and South Florida while completing his undergraduate degree in business management at Florida International University. In 2005, he joined Economos Properties as Front Desk Manager at the historic Courtyard by Marriott Miami Beach Oceanfront. His leadership skills quickly became evident, leading to promotions to Front Office Manager, Director of Operations, and eventually General Manager within the ownership group. In these roles, Daniel successfully managed major renovations, revenue generation, and operational transformations. By 2017, he was promoted to Area General Manager, tasked with overseeing multiple properties, including Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites, and Fairfield Inn & Suites. His expertise in project management was further demonstrated in 2018 when he led the conversion of a 220-room Holiday Inn to a Best Western Plus in Sparks, NV, and from 2019 to 2021, when he oversaw the design, construction, and opening of the 350-room dual-branded Marriott and AC Hotel in Dania Pointe.

Beyond his executive responsibilities, Daniel is committed to developing future leaders in the hospitality industry, mentoring young professionals, and supporting their success. He holds key leadership positions within the industry, serving as Vice President of the Broward Chapter of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association, a board member of the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Greater Fort Lauderdale General Manager’s Council, and a trustee member of the City of Dania Beach Chamber of Commerce. He was also appointed to the Hilton Focus Service Brand Operations Council and continues to contribute to the growth and innovation of the industry through these roles.

Daniel is deeply involved in his community, having served as Chairman of the Centre Lake Development District (a taxing authority from 2020 to 2023) and Director, Treasurer, and President of the Satori Homeowners Association (from 2020 to 2022). These roles were held during the transition from developer-controlled to homeowner-controlled associations.

His commitment to civic engagement is further reflected through his advisory committee work with organizations such as The Dan Marino Foundation and Gang Alternative Inc. Additionally, he volunteers with Feeding South Florida, the American Lung Association, the American Heart Association, and Habitat for Humanity of Broward.

Daniel’s contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Marriott Select Brands Hotel Opening of the Year Award in 2022, the Marriott Select Brands Difference Maker Award in 2023, and the 40 Over 40 Award from Questex Hotel Management Publication in 2024.

Despite the challenges faced by the hospitality sector during the COVID-19 pandemic, Daniel continues to prioritize innovation and leadership, focusing on sustainable growth and inspiring future leaders in the industry.
