Dave Racer Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Education

Over the years, he has authored, co-authored, edited or published more than 50 books, 22 of which focus on the U.S. health care system.

    WOODBURY, MN, July 29, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Dave Racer has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After attending Macalester College and the University of Minnesota, Mr. Racer served his country in the U.S. Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, Mr. Racer continued his college education at the University of Southern Mississippi. After discharge from the military in 1971, he entered a sales career and, in 1974, founded ServiceMaster of Maplewood, where he managed a staff of 15 and developed and implemented innovative and unique sales, marketing, and management strategies.

A small business advocacy group, Minnesota Proposition 180 Degrees, named Mr. Racer its Executive Director in 1983. Before serving as the National Campaign Manager for Alan Keyes for President in 1996, Mr. Racer wrote his first of more than 50 books, published Dave Racer’s Minnesota Report, and launched a talk radio show, The Dave Racer Show.

Mr. Racer began teaching a course he designed, American Government-For Real!, in 1998, and launched Student Senate, a legislative experience for high school aged students. He also teaches Contemporary Issues, and We the People – The U.S.A. Constitution, two more courses he designed and has written.

Drawing on years of leadership, education, and strategic planning expertise, Mr. Racer formed DGRCommunications, Inc., where he serves as President and Chief Executive Officer. The company provides communication services to a variety of clients, and owns Alethos Press, a local publishing company.

Mr. Racer writes about various subjects, including contemporary issues and the American government. Over the years, he has authored, co-authored, edited or published more than 50 books, 22 of which focus on the U.S. health care system. Others include Caged Bird, To Change the Heart of Man, and Death by Design. And, Life & Economics: A Liberty Argument, Facts Not Fiction: What Really Ails the U.S. Health Care System, Your Health Matters, What You Need to Know About U.S. Health Care, and The Big Ideas – Our Silver Thread, America’s Creed and others. Mr. Racer authored The Manual – Health Care 2020: Connecting the Dots and 25 Keys to Healthcare Redesign.

In addition to his work with DGR, Mr. Racer is the director of communications for Dattilo Consulting, Inc., and as a teacher specializing in American government with MidMetro Academy.

An expert in his field, he holds a Master of Letters in organizational leadership from Oxford Graduate School. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, he aligns himself with several organizations, including the Minnesota Physician-Patient Alliance, the Board of Human Life Alliance, the National Association of Health Underwriters, and the National Federation of Independent Business. In conjunction with his professional and educational endeavors, Mr. Racer served as Chair and President of the Constitution Educational Foundation, the Declaration Foundation, where he is the founding president, and The Heartland Institute, through which he serves as a health care policy adviser.

In light of his professional achievements, Mr. Racer received a Top Teacher Award from Fox 9 News in 2023. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in his belief in Christ, meeting his life partner, and raising five children together. He is also honored to have excelled in education for many years. Mr. Racer intends to continue teaching and expects to release his textbook, American Government-For Real, late in 2024.
