EL PASO, TEXAS, December 23, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Dr. Therea A. Ware-Asbury, commander in the United States Navy, has been selected for a cover feature in the Seventeenth Edition of Marquis Millennium Magazine. Released triannually, Millennium Magazine features the narrative biographies of the world’s most esteemed and accomplished professionals. The publication is available exclusively to Marquis listees, and inclusion is by invitation only.
Dr. Theresa A. Ware-Asbury distinguished herself as a member of the United States Navy from 1972 until her retirement in 1994. Notable for being the 14th Black woman to be commissioned as a naval officer, she went on to serve as a line officer in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she also worked as a human resource management consultant. During this time, she was part of the team that helped defuse racial tensions on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk and among service members in Japan. In the years following, Dr. Ware-Asbury contributed as a counselor with the BOOST Program, which sought to improve the academic skills of Navy and Marine personnel.
