CHARLOTTE, NC, December 06, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Erin M. Koballa, DVM, has been inducted into Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Driven by a steadfast belief in the importance of exceptional customer service in the field of veterinary medicine, Dr. Koballa has distinguished herself as the owner of Charlotte Companion Animal Hospital, a family-oriented veterinary hospital based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded with an abundance of empathy for pet owners and a personalized approach to treatment for their animal friends, Charlotte Companion Animal Hospital offers a wide array of services in preventative care, advanced care, general surgery and sick visits. Dedicated to a lifetime of service on behalf of pet owners throughout the local community, the hospital was hailed by South Charlotte Lifestyle Magazine as the Best Vet in Charlotte in 2023 and has received a number of featured articles from regional publications and websites.

Leveraging over a decade of experience in her chosen profession, Dr. Koballa began her veterinary career at North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital in 2018. For nearly five years, she benefited richly from the guidance and tutelage of the excellent doctors there, who taught her about the field of veterinary medicine. Realizing that she was approaching the limits of what her current career track could offer her, however, she began to explore the possibility of opening her own practice. Though it was challenging, she eventually purchased a property, and, following two months of renovation, she opened Charlotte Companion Animal Hospital in 2022.

Previously, Dr. Koballa studied psychology at Duke University, from which she earned a Bachelor of Science in 2013. Following this accomplishment, she continued her academic efforts at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she attained a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. She is also a Fear Free Certified Professional, signifying her commitment to reducing or otherwise eliminating triggers that could make pets anxious or fearful during their treatment.

Throughout the course of her education, she maintained a number of roles in both the professional veterinary field and with nonprofit organizations, including technician assistant at the Duke Lemur Center, a student representative with Elanco Animal Health and a veterinary extern with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) Humane Alliance, to name only a few. Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Koballa maintains her affiliation with the Veterinary Business Management Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association.

In light of her professional achievements, Dr. Koballa has been honored many times throughout her career, earning the Simmons Business Aptitude Award from the Simmons Veterinary Practice Sales & Appraisals Educational Fund in 2017. She also received several awards while studying at Duke University, including an appearance on the dean’s list, with distinction, in 2012. Having also excelled as a soccer player while studying in college, Dr. Koballa is proud to have been part of a team that finished as a finalist in the 2011 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Women’s Soccer College Cup.

Among her most cherished accomplishments, Dr. Koballa is particularly proud to have taken the risk of establishing and sustaining her own veterinary practice. In accounting for her success, she credits the simple fact that she has indeed found her calling in caring for both pets and their owners. Informed by a commitment to holistic customer service, she is passionate about building trust with her clients and setting herself apart from other veterinarians in the field. Looking toward the future, Dr. Koballa aspires to build a team that shares her dedication to excellent service and to become recognized as a name that people associate with the highest level of veterinary care.
