Prior to these roles, Dr. Sanogo served as the secretary of the School of Medicine Graduate Student Association from 2021 to 2022. For the preceding two years, she contributed to Landmark as a consultant and held concurrent tenure as a research analyst at the Southern California Clinical and Translational Science Institute from 2018 to 2021. Her early career includes working as a research consultant with Hollywood, Health & Society, an internship with the Pasadena Public Health Department, a fellowship with the National Institutes of Health in Ghana, and several other student research roles.
Dr. Sanogo’s educational background is equally impressive. She earned her doctorate in epidemiology from the Keck School of Medicine of USC in 2023 after completing a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and cell biology at the University of California San Diego in 2016. She also holds an Associate of Arts in math pre-engineering and biological sciences from San Diego City College and was the national Olympiad winner of the Baccalaureate high school exam in her native country, Burkina Faso. In addition to her formal education, she attributes her success to the invaluable mentorship she received throughout her academic journey.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Sanogo is deeply committed to civic engagement and community service. She is the founder and chief executive officer of Sahel and Sahara Peace and Empowerment, a nonprofit organization established in 2018. The organization focuses on increasing school enrollment and retention rates for adolescent girls by providing essential resources, such as school supplies and menstrual hygiene products. Under her leadership, the nonprofit has also contributed to constructing wells to ensure clean drinking water access in the communities they serve.
Dr. Sanogo is also a dedicated author, having published “31 Universal Spiritual Principles” in 2019 and various other written works.
