FreeBalance’s budgeting solutions and services support improved governance, transparency and accelerate public financial management reform
Ottawa, Canada (December 20, 2022) FreeBalancea global provider of public finance management (PFM) solutions and consulting services, announced today that it has been selected through a competitive tender process to deliver a comprehensive budget preparation solution for the Tunisian government’s Ministry of Finance (MoF) as part of that of USAID funded project Fiscal and Accounting System of Tunisia (FAST) implemented by Development alternatives included (DAI).
FreeBalance will provide and implement the (GPPB) Government Performance Budgeting and (GPBB) Budget Book Builder functionality FreeBalance Accountability Suite™. The functional scope of the project includes support for the medium-term macroeconomic and fiscal framework, budget preparation and performance management and monitoring. Designed exclusively for governments, the FreeBalance solution is proven to improve budget reliability, budget documentation and planning efficiency. The new budgeting solution supports the expansion and update of the government’s integrated public financial management information system (PFMIS).
FreeBalance has extensive experience supporting PFM reforms in Africa and elsewhere, and its software has been cited in numerous cases Secretariat for Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability (PEFA) assessments to improve ranking and support modernization.

The Fiscal and Accounting System of Tunisia (FAST) project supports the systems and processes needed to operationalize and accelerate the Tunisian government’s reforms modernizing the system for managing public revenue and expenditure, is funded by USAID and implemented by DAI.
