Mrs. Carr has established herself as a distinguished professional in the field of radiology. Since 2018, she has been the radiology manager at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. With more than two decades of experience, her expertise spans CT, ultrasound, OBYN radiology, nuclear medicine, and nuclear cardiology. Her foresight and dedication were further evidenced as she filled an interim director position until a permanent appointment was made.
Prior to her current role, Mrs. Carr was the radiology technical manager and PACS administrator at Interfaith Medical Center from 2012 to 2017. During her tenure, she made a significant impact by advocating for purchasing a new CAT scanner for the emergency department. Instead of spending the funding elsewhere, she argued that having the scanner close to the emergency department would significantly benefit patient care, and the decision increased the hospital’s capacity to serve the community.
Ms. Carr’s early career includes positions as a clinical coordinator at Harlem School of Radiology from 2011 to 2012 and a special procedure technologist at Metropolitan Hospital from 2005 to 2008. She has maintained her expertise throughout her career through her involvement with industry organizations, such as The Association for Medical Imaging Management and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Mrs. Carr has laid a solid foundation for her medical career through rigorous academic achievement. She obtained an associate degree in Radiologic Technology from City Tech, City University of New York, in 2004, followed by a bachelor’s degree in Medical Imaging Services from Grand Canyon University in 2012. Mrs. Carr further advanced her education by earning a master’s degree in Health Administration from Ashford University in 2020. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Health Administration at Capella University. In addition to her educational qualifications, she is a certified radiologic technologist, credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Originally from Antigua, Mrs. Carr completed her professional education in Cuba prior to immigrating to the United States. While she initially contemplated a career in medicine, she ultimately chose to specialize in radiology, a decision that provided her with a range of new opportunities. Throughout her career, she attributes her professional achievements to the profound influence of her father, who underscored the critical importance of education. His guidance inspired Mrs. Carr to strive for excellence in each project she undertook, fostering a commitment to success in all her endeavors. In her personal life, Mrs. Carr enjoys traveling with her husband and their three children, particularly to destinations characterized by warm climates and picturesque beaches. Looking forward, she is determined to secure a position as a director or chief operating officer within the healthcare sector and aspires to advance to senior leadership roles within her current organization.
