Currently, he is pursuing a research associate position at North Carolina State University following his time as a biological scientist II at the Range Cattle Research and Education Center at the University of Florida, where he contributed from 2017 to 2024. In this capacity, he was responsible for receiving samples from producers for analysis; coordinating with students in field experiments related to soil, plants and animals; and assisting his supervisor in writing scientific papers for international journals and contributing effectively to research efforts.

In 2021, Dr. Siqueira da Silva was recognized with an employee award for his contributions. Prior to his position at the University of Florida, he was affiliated with the same center as a postdoctoral associate from 2016 to 2017. Beforehand, he served as a technical coordinator for other agricultural projects from 2015 to 2016 and completed postdoctoral coursework at both the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco and the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences at the North Florida Research and Education Center at the University of Florida from 2014 to 2015.

Originally from Brazil, Dr. Siqueira da Silva received a Doctor of Philosophy in animal science from the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco in 2013 following a master’s degree in animal science and a bachelor’s degree in agronomy and crop science from the same university as well as experience working as an agricultural engineer. Together, his experience and academic achievements have been instrumental in his success, as they provided him with a solid foundation in agricultural sciences and research methodologies. During his academic journey, Dr. Siqueira da Silva contributed significantly to scientific literature with publications such as “Signal Grass Litter Decomposition Rate Increases with Inclusion of Calopo”, which was published in Crop Science in 2012, and “Litter decomposition of Brachiaria decumbens Stapf. and Calopogonium mucunoides Desv. in the rumen and in the field: a comparative analysis”, which was published in Nutrient Cycling in Agroecosystems in 2009.

In all he has achieved, Dr. Siqueira da Silva attributes his accomplishments to his unwavering dedication to continuous improvement as both a professional and researcher.
