James Briscoe, Jr. Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Education

He was honored as the Teacher of the Year in 2019 at KIPP Collegiate High School, which was one of the highlights of his career.

    FAIRBURN, GA, January 17, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — James Briscoe has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. An accomplished science teacher with a proven track record of success in the education management industry, Mr. Briscoe serves as a lead physics science teacher for KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools. Through the school system, he also channels his passion for sports into his work as the head football coach and assistant track. In addition to preparing and delivering lectures, Mr. Briscoe creates practice schedules and reaches out to community partners to seek out funding for the district’s sports programs.

During the early stages of his career, Mr. Briscoe gained valuable expertise as a sixth, seventh, and eighth grade science teacher for Teach for America and as a level two special programs instructional assistant for Salem Kiezer Public Schools. Between 2009 and 2013, he also worked as the head resident assistant for Savannah State University’s Residential Services and Programs.

An expert in his field, Mr. Briscoe earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Sciences from Savannah State University and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in leadership from Liberty University. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, he has aligned himself with the Minority Coaches of Georgia, the Black Coaches Association, the Collegiate 100 Black Men of Savannah State University, Profound Gentleman, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

In recognition of his dedication to education, Mr. Briscoe was named the Most Outstanding Resident Assistant by Ms. Stephanie Anderson in 2013 and was honored as the Teacher of the Year in 2019 at KIPP Collegiate High School, which was one of the highlights of his career. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to the relationships he has fostered with other scholars and the community. In the next five to ten years, Mr. Briscoe aims to become an athletic director, assistant principal, or principal. Ultimately, he would also like to help his daughters thrive academically and professionally.
