AUSTIN, TX, July 23, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Jimmy Elskes has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Elskes, a distinguished professional in the field of finance and energy, currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Wing Resources LLC, a role he has held since 2019. With over a decade of experience in his profession, he has been instrumental in driving the company’s strategy, particularly focusing on valuations and acquisitions within the Permian Basin. Notably, he recognized the importance of early investment in southern New Mexico, which has helped drive strong returns for the company and its investors.
Mr. Elskes earned a Juris Doctor, with Honors, from the University of Texas School of Law and began his career as an Associate at Andrews Kurth LLP, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and securities related legal representation of energy sector clients. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a Summer Associate at both Andrews Kurth LLP and Vinson & Elkins LLP. In 2012, he transitioned into banking as an Investment Banking Associate at Citigroup in Houston, Texas, where he focused on capital markets and mergers and acquisitions for energy industry clients. He later joined Barclays’ Natural Resources Group as an Investment Banking Associate and subsequently served as a Vice President. Prior to his current role, he was the Chief Financial Officer at Perpetual Production LLC.
Mr. Elskes was raised in Houston, Texas, where he graduated from St. John’s School, before attending Southern Methodist University as a President’s Scholar. There he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a minor in Business. During these formative years, he was also recognized as a Rotunda Scholar and was actively involved in Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
Alongside his wife and small children, he attends the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd and champions numerous philanthropic endeavors, including The Ascension Seton Foundation, Ballet Austin and the Good Shepherd Episcopal School. Mr. Elskes has remained an engaged member of the Texas Journal of Oil, Gas, and Energy Law and the Phi Delta Phi honor society.
Looking ahead, Mr. Elskes sees opportunity in natural gas fired and nuclear power generation, battery energy storage systems, and domestic lithium extraction, as significant investment in new power projects is needed to meet increasing electricity demand. In Texas in particular, he sees huge growth in the power sector over the next decade, due to Texas’s rapidly growing population and the outsized amount of electricity supplied by intermittent wind and solar power generation.
