Katie Henry Celebrated for Excellence in Manufacturing Quality Control and Safety

Ms. Henry has established herself as a distinguished professional in the fields of quality, operations leadership and health and safety. As vice president of QHSE and change management at dormakaba since 2022, she oversees the overall health and safety programs for the organization. Her expertise is further recognized through her active involvement with industry-related organizations, such as Women in Manufacturing, the Security Industry Association and the American Society for Quality. She is also a committee member for PropelHER within the SIA Women in Security Forum. She was recently recognized as a Power 100, honoring exceptional women in security who are raising the bar, changing expectations and breaking barriers.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Henry served as director of operations at Landsberg Orora from 2020 to 2022. Her dedication at the firm was acknowledged with the Hero Award for People Development in 2021. Additionally, she held concurrent roles at Landsberg Orora as procure to pay process champion and regional quality manager, along with previous positions as a regional operations manager from 2019 to 2020 and an operations manager the preceding two years.
Ms. Henry’s earlier roles include food safety coordinator at Eden Foods Inc. in 2016 and quality assurance supervisor and manager at Jarden Home Brands from 2013 to 2016. Her initial single-year tenures as a global quality management systems subject matter expert at Kerry Group and quality assurance technician provided her with valuable insights into quality management systems.
Ms. Henry’s academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in interdepartmental biology and chemistry from Earlham College, completed in 2012, and a high school honors diploma from The Indiana Academy, earned in 2005. Beyond her education, she attributes her success to realizing that everyone is human and her commitment to treating others with respect.
Outside her professional life, Ms. Henry is committed to civic engagement, having served as the food pantry intake team leader at the Al Huda Islamic Center of Indiana since 2021. She was also a fourth-grade volleyball coach for the Catholic Youth Organization from 2016 to 2020.
In her personal life, Ms. Henry enjoys cooking, playing volleyball, bike riding and spending time with her family, including her three children. Looking ahead, she aims to further develop her team at dormakaba and leverage artificial intelligence to enhance quality, health and safety within the security industry. Her passion for guiding people, watching them grow, and making work fun remains a driving force in her career aspirations.
