Dr. Singh’s career began with significant contributions to the Indian Army Medical Corps from 1997 to 2002 as a medical officer and major, through which she gained invaluable experience in preventive medicine and public health. Following her military service, she held various roles within the health care sector in India, including positions as a staff physician, utilization manager and branch head, medical advisor, primary care physician, state tuberculosis project coordinator and infection prevention specialist.
From 2013 to 2015, Dr. Singh also worked with the World Health Organization as a medical consultant on their Tuberculosis Control Program in India. She considers this work to be her most notable achievement, as she spearheaded initiatives to combat drug-resistant tuberculosis by establishing gene export laboratories for quick and accurate diagnosis. Her innovative approach involved dividing the state into four regional monitoring units, a step forward that significantly improved the efficiency of the program’s activity monitoring across densely populated areas.
The foundation for Dr. Singh’s successful career is her academic achievements, which include an MD from Karnatak University and a postgraduate diploma in maternal and child health from Indira Gandhi National Open University. She also earned a Master of Business Administration in health care administration from the Miller College of Business at Ball State University in 2023, soon after immigrating to the United States from India. Dr. Singh was recognized for academic excellence with her induction into the Beta Gamma Sigma Society in 2022. Further enhancing her qualifications, she has obtained certifications as a Certified Business Analysis Professional and a Project Management Professional, along with a certification in a Microsoft project.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Singh is actively involved in civic organizations, serving as a health care administrator at Morrison Wood Health Center since 2023 and as a community representative through volunteer work. Dr. Singh enjoys reading, painting, knitting and cooking. Outside her professional responsibilities, Dr. Singh values helping others in all aspects of life, enjoys spending time with her family and actively engages in initiatives that contribute positively to her community.
