SAINT LOUIS, MO, March 08, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Keisha S. Ross, PhD, has been inducted into Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Ross is distinguished for her 13 years of excellence in the clinical psychology profession. As owner of New Horizon Psychological Services, she oversees a nonprofit community mental health program providing services in Cole County and Boone County. Adjacent to this work, Dr. Ross is a full-time clinical psychologist for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and consults on racial trauma, providing professionals and community organizations with customized training in cultural competency. Prior to founding New Horizon Psychological Services and joining the V.A. Department, Dr. Ross worked in private practice, where she assisted individuals, groups and couples at Family Life Counseling and Psychological Services, LLC, and Our Little Haven.

This is a role that Dr. Ross takes extremely seriously, as her involvement can have a profound impact on the life of the young person and their family.

Well regarded for her contributions to the field, Dr. Ross is the recipient of a Missouri Psychological Association Leadership Award and is the inaugural recipient of the Saint Louis VA Advancing Diversity in Psychology Award. The first generation of her family to earn a doctoral degree, she holds a PhD in clinical psychology from Saint Louis University and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Clark Atlanta University.

As a commitment to her field, Dr. Ross is active with a number of organizations pertinent to her profession. She is treasurer of the St. Louis Chapter Association of Black Psychologists (STLABPSI), Past President of Missouri Psychological Association (MOPA) and current Social Justice and Diversity Committee Chair. Additionally, she is Board Chair of the Saint Louis Psychoanalytic Institute, Diversity Chair American Psychological Association (APA), Division 31, and volunteers with Almost Home, a nonprofit organization supporting young mothers. She also has served as Adjunct Faculty at Saint Louis University and University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL), as well as guest lectures in other university settings. Dr. Ross is cited in journal publication in the areas of race-based stress and trauma, as well as religion and spirituality and its impact on psychological adjustment.

Outside of work, Dr. Ross enjoys spending time with her family; now that her children are getting older, she hopes to find time to write a book. Her hobbies include traveling, holistic healing, biking and walking. Dr. Ross is thankful for the love and support of her entire immediate and extended family.
