Mr. Kim has received numerous awards and recognitions from his home country of South Korea, including the president’s medal for outstanding trade contributions in 1981.

LOS ANGELES, CA, December 12, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Ki-il “John” Kim has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Prior to establishing K-Technology USA Inc. in an effort to solve the energy crisis and save the planet by developing sustainable energy systems, Mr. Kim first gained entrepreneurial experience in the multifaceted field of electronics. After establishing American Security System Inc. and Keytronics Inc. in 1970, he went on to invent the first cordless phone, the Citizens Band radio, a cordless alarm system, and a satellite receiver, which were manufactured and distributed nationwide across the U.S. After devoting his time and efforts for nearly two decades there, Mr. Kim established Minerva Industries Inc. in 1990.

Over the course of nearly 25 years at Minerva, Mr. Kim received almost 40 patents. Inspired by his life’s mission of decreasing the crime rate, he created the world’s first digital camera cellphone in 1997, which was successfully patented and licensed by Minerva as well as to other major cellphone manufacturers, including Apple, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, and Sony, among others. In 2010, after witnessing the significance of renewable energy in today’ society, drawing inspiration from other individuals championing the crucial role of clean energy, and feeling the urgency of the climate crisis, Mr. Kim embarked on a mission to incorporate clean energy into his work and thus established K-Technology.

Through his pursuits at K-Technology for more than a decade, Mr. Kim has dedicated his time and resources to developing solutions to combat the climate issue. To date, he has received nearly 15 patents related to renewable energy—technologies capable of reducing billions of tons of carbon dioxide emissions. As a result of Mr. Kim’s unwavering commitment to create renewable energy solutions, he has created a technology that is being adopted by numerous countries, and he is immensely proud of his team’s achievements and this noteworthy career achievement.

Among his numerous patents, Mr. Kim has achieved the remarkable feat of obtaining a patent for a train rail power generating system: an innovative, easy-to-install system that uses renewable resources of energy, such as wind and wheel power. Not only is it specifically designed to generate power for train vehicles, but it is also easy to incorporate into most existing trains to generate up to 1,000 megawatts of power on a daily basis, without adding to the carbon emissions that contribute to environmental pollution. Mr. Kim’s invention is a major breakthrough in the field of energy generation and has the potential to revolutionize the way we power our transportation systems.

Outside of Mr. Kim’s immense professional contributions and achievements over the years, he served as the chairman of the Korea International Trade Association from 1978 to 1983. In addition, during 1981, he held an advisory member position for Korea’s peace unification committee and was the founder of the Overseas Korean Trader’s Association. Furthermore, he served as a chairman of the 1984 U.S. Olympic committee in Los Angeles that supported Korea and was a founder and chairman of the Korean-American Inventor’s Association, established in 1991.

For all his accomplishments, Mr. Kim has received numerous awards and recognitions from his home country of South Korea, including the president’s medal for outstanding trade contributions in 1981. Moreover, he was honored as the outstanding business man of the year by the Republican National Committee through the President’s Club in 2003, among other honorable recognitions. Along with his various awards, Mr. Kim holds a degree from Konkuk University and served a total of three years in both the Korea military and the 65th Medical Brigade, a subordinate to the Eighth United States Army.
