Ms. Polk also regularly treats patients who have recently had surgery for serious injuries and would normally have to recover in a hospital.
Prior to founding Birmingham Vital Care, Ms. Polk was notable as the accounting manager for Walgreens Option Care, formerly known as Walgreens Infusion Services, from 2006 to 2015. Between 2002 and 2020, she served as President of the parent-teacher organization for a local elementary school as well as a local high school. Towards the end of that time, Ms. Polk was concurrently completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Auburn University in Montgomery.
During her tenure at Walgreens Option Care, Ms. Polk was honored with a variety of awards related to her expertise in intravenous antibiotic therapy and intravenous immunoglobulin administration. Likewise, Birmingham Vital Care has received multiple awards as one of the most respected providers of home infusion therapy in their home state of Alabama. In addition to her faith, Ms. Polk attributes much of her success to her passion for helping others. In the years to come, she intends to drive the growth of Birmingham Vital Care while maintaining her esteemed reputation in her local community.
