HOLBROOK, NY, November 07, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Lauren Marie Dascalopoulos has been inducted into Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Dascalopoulos has established a distinguished career in the aviation industry, currently serving as a general manager at Hawaiian Airlines since 2019. In this role, she is responsible for making operational decisions daily, considering legal and financial aspects, managing finances, collaborating with business partners and organizing marketing fundraisers. Her expertise in critical thinking, problem-solving and working under pressure has been instrumental in her success. She is also a treasurer for the Kennedy Airport Airlines Management Council, a position she has held since 2024, where she continues to demonstrate her leadership and financial acumen.
Prior to her current roles, Ms. Dascalopoulos was a team lead at JetBlue Airways from 2012 to 2019. During this time, she honed her skills in customer service and team management. Concurrently, she served as a lead at Hawaiian Airlines from 2012 until 2018, where she began her journey with the company as a ground handler and agent when Hawaiian Airlines entered John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Her rapid ascent within the organization is a testament to her fearless approach to expressing ideas and gaining respect in a male-dominated industry.
Ms. Dascalopoulos began her career with an internship at Walt Disney World in 2008, which provided her with foundational experience in hospitality and customer service. She also worked as a lead customer service representative at JetBlue Airways in 2012 and served as a tour guide at JFK. These early roles laid the groundwork for her future achievements and leadership positions.
Pivotal in Ms. Dascalopoulos’s career development were her academic accomplishments, inclusive of an associate degree in hospitality administration and management from Nassau Community College, which she earned in 2010. Additionally, she holds several certifications, including hospitality certification, OSHA certification, ground security coordinator certification and certification resolutions officer designation, equipping her with essential knowledge and skills for the hospitality and aviation sectors.
Ms. Dascalopoulos attributes her success to her structured upbringing and the guidance of mentors who helped her overcome anxiety and self-doubt. Initially pursuing a career as a dental hygienist, she decided to change paths. This decision led her to reinvent herself within the aviation industry.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Dascalopoulos is actively involved with civic-minded organizations such as the Angel Flight charity and NFT Charter Services. She has been recognized as one of the Power Women of Queens by Schneps Media in 2024 — one of her proudest achievements — and is a member of the Nassau BOCES National Honor Society.
