Dr. Willingham is a licensed professional counselor who has been in private practice in South Carolina since 2008. Offering extensive expertise in marriage and pre-marriage counseling, she also specializes in individual and family mediation. Dr. Willingham performs diagnoses and treats patients by relying on a range of therapy techniques and makes referrals to other mental health professionals when necessary.

Before launching her practice, Dr. Willingham worked for a private behavioral health center. She also garnered experience with several alcohol and drug abuse groups within the state. During an earlier stage of her career, Dr. Willingham was a certified therapeutic recreation specialist working with individuals with disabilities and special needs. Looking toward the future, she aims to write her first grant and open a health center serving the African American community.

Outside the office, Dr. Willingham lends her time to the community as a volunteer counselor, providing services pro bono to individuals facing mental health crises. She also offers Christian counseling online and has served as a lay pastor since 2011. Dr. Willingham is also active with the National Black Presbyterian Caucus and the National Council of Negro Women, National Association of University Women, and Federated Women Association and has served as the president of the National Black Presbyterian Women, and president of the Fairfield-McClelland Chapter of NBPC and has been engaged in fundraising efforts to support student scholarships for her alma mater, Benedict College.

Highly educated, Dr. Willingham graduated from Benedict College in South Carolina with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1973 and Webster University with a Master of Science in counseling in 2000. She also received a Doctor of Professional Counseling from Mississippi College in 2017. Dr. Willingham is highly qualified in the mental health field, recognized as a nationally certified counselor, licensed addiction counselor, and certified therapeutic recreation specialist.
