Mr. Aragon has established himself as a distinguished figure in high-voltage powerline construction, recently he retired from Henkels & McCoy West LLC where is was the general superintendent. With a career spanning over four decades, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in managing power-related business lines, including overhead and underground transmission, distribution, services, substation QEW and standby lineman projects. His responsibilities included business development, project estimating, tool and material management, equipment costs and allocations, and staffing oversight.

Having begun his career at 18, Mr. Aragon was inspired by his uncle to pursue a career as an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) journeyman lineman. He worked for various contractors in the Western United States for several years. His early experiences included working as a high voltage power line apprentice training instructor for the California Nevada Electrical JATC from 1996 to 2002. He then progressed through various roles at PAR Electric, including general foreman between 1999 and 2006 and operations manager from 2006 to 2007. Mr. Aragon’s tenure at PAR Electric also included superintendent and operations manager positions between 2008 and 2012.

Mr. Aragon joined Klondyke Construction LLC in 2013 as a general foreman and Elemental Energy Inc. as a general superintendent in 2014. His career continued with Henkels & McCoy Inc., where he served as a foreman in 2015 before becoming general superintendent at A.M. Ortega between 2016 and 2017. Before assuming his current role, Mr. Aragon returned to Henkels & McCoy Inc. as a general foreman in 2017. Besides his full-time roles, Mr. Aragon served on the San Diego County and City of San Diego liaison boards in 2012.

Mr. Aragon’s educational background includes coursework in power lineman high-voltage electrical at Rancho Santiago Community College and a teaching credential in adult and continuing education from the National Training Institute, University of Tennessee in Knoxville in 2001. He also holds numerous high-voltage powerline construction and maintenance certifications, including JBEW journeyman lineman certification from California Nevada Electrical JATC.

As part of his professional commitments, Mr. Aragon has been a member of the IBEW for four decades. Civically, he is actively involved with organizations like Samaritans Purse and Compassion International and is a member of Pine Valley Community Church.

Mr. Aragon’s professional achievements include leading a team that built a Sumitomo Vanadium Redox Flow Battery Storage Facility in San Diego. It was just one of only six such systems worldwide at the time. This project marked a significant milestone in his career, showcasing his ability to lead innovative energy solutions. Mr. Aragon attributes much of his success to his faith and the unwavering support of his wife of 33 years. As he looks toward the future, he plans to transition into a consulting role.
