Mr. Kilgore has had a multifaceted career spanning several industries and roles. His corporate experience started at Control Data Corporation in 1967. He rose to hold several positions, including Assistant Treasurer and later vice president for Venture Operations.

Mr. Kilgore left to form Harbor Stone Associates, a software development and consulting firm, in 1986. The firm developed commercial web-based database applications. He served as Chief Technology Officer for Agmotion, Inc., a commodities trading firm, from 2000 to 2004.

In 2009, after a trip to Tanzania, Mr. Kilgore, with two partners, formed Iringa Hope, a 501c(3) non-profit developing village-level microfinance funds. He served as Treasurer and Director until 2015. Iringa Hope has grown to have funds in 40 villages and a full-time Tanzanian staff to provide training and support. This work has helped thousands of families increase their livelihood, reduce malnutrition, access better healthcare, and enable their children to go on to secondary education. Iringa Hope has recently established village coops that provide mass-purchased fertilizer and seed to village farmers.

Now retired and living in Florida, Mr Kilgore turned to his lifelong passing for writing. He has authored three novels. “Will Normal Return” was published in 2020, and “Through the Raging Storm” in 2021. His most recent book, “Escape from Tridon, Destination Earth,” came out in March of 2024.

Mr. Kilgore’s educational background began at Culver Military Academy, where he graduated in 1958. He subsequently received a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1962. He did graduate work in physics for three years at Iowa State University. After a decision to change careers, he attended the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, graduating with an MBA in finance in 1967. His decision to leave Iowa State resulted from a desire to be less narrowly focused. Mr. Kilgore has served on several boards and is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.
