Mr. Ringling is a distinguished horticulture instructor at Southeast Technical College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he has been imparting his extensive knowledge to students since 2021. Passionate about enriching the lives of his students by providing them with quality education, his goal is to enable them to explore their full potential in their chosen career paths. When he is not busy lecturing, Mr. Ringling spends his free time refining his curriculum, ensuring that it meets their needs and prepares students for success in their future roles.

Before pivoting into higher education, Mr. Ringling was the head horticulturist at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls, overseeing the landscaping and plant management of the prestigious golf course. Among other noteworthy roles, he honed his expertise as the lead horticulturist in Valparaiso, Indiana, managing large-scale horticultural projects and ensuring the health and beauty of various plant collections. His career also included a tenure as a property manager at Boundary Breaks Vineyard, where he applied his skills to viticulture and vineyard maintenance. Mr. Ringling’s journey in horticulture began with an internship at Longwood Gardens, one of the premier horticultural display gardens in the U.S.

Apart from his full-time commitments, Mr. Ringling has been active locally, serving on the advisory board for IronFox Farm and the CTE Academy.

Building upon his professional achievements, Mr. Ringling’s academic background laid a strong foundation for his career in horticulture. He earned a Bachelor of Science in horticulture production from South Dakota State University and a Master of Education from the University of Sioux Falls.

To remain aware of developments in his field, Mr. Ringling is a professional member of the National Association of Landscape Professionals and the South Dakota Nursery and Landscape Association.

Mr. Ringling attributes much of his success to the unwavering support from his work team, his family, and close friends. Their encouragement has been instrumental in his achievements and continuous pursuit of excellence. His passion for horticulture traces back to childhood experiences in his grandmother’s garden and his later responsibilities on his family’s farm. These formative experiences instilled in Mr. Ringling a love for plants and the outdoors that ultimately guided him toward his professional path.
