Ms. Groh is an experienced chartered accountant and attorney at law with Goldstein & Orr in San Antonio, Texas. Since joining the firm in 2022, she has assisted clients in all phases of criminal convictions at the state and federal level. She also provides legal counsel for those already convicted with appeals and writs of habeas corpus. Ms. Groh strives to defend her clients’ rights under state and federal constitutions and works diligently to ensure each client receives the best possible representation.
Ms. Groh has spent more than 30 years of her career specializing in accounting, financial reporting and tax compliance. Prior to practicing law, Ms. Groh was a Chartered Accountant and Regulatory Auditor with the Defense Contract Audit Agency between 2010 and 2019. Inspired to study law to serve others, she graduated and began working as a clerk at Watts Guerra LLP in 2020 before relocating to her current law firm in 2021. She notably owned a small business, Hill County ACFN, from 2014 to 2022.
Ms. Groh is hungry for success and has established herself as a competent and sought-after criminal defense attorney. In particular, she has worked on several complex legal matters, including habeas corpus writs, sentencing hearings, pleas for pity release and certiorari writs before the Texas Circuit Court of Appeals and the US Supreme Court.
Ms. Groh often volunteers by providing volunteer services to those in need. While in law school, she volunteered with the Texas Fair Defense Project and was the online legal information assistant at TexasLawHelp.org.
While serving her country in the US Army and US Air Force National Guard, Ms. Groh earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of La Verne in California. She was then accepted to California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, where she earned a Masters of Business Administration. Most recently, she attended law school at Saint Mary’s University and earned a Doctor of Laws degree. In addition, Ms. Groh completed a legal research internship with the City of Austin’s Office of Police Oversight. She is licensed to practice law by the Texas Bar Association, the US District Court for the Western and Southern Districts of Texas, and the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. In addition, Ms. Groh is certified as a Certified Public Accountant in Texas.
As a member of several industry-related organizations, Ms. Groh has attended the Criminal Justice Clinic and Board of Advocates. She was also a charter member of the American Bar Association’s Consortium on Police Practices for law school. She is a member of the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Lawyers Guild, and the Federal Bar Association, among others.
As a result of her accomplishments, Ms. Groh received the Litigation and Advocacy Award while attending law school for her participation in Saint Mary’s senior national team in 2022. She also received the university’s Dean’s Award.
