Dr. Arvidson is a distinguished professional with a multifaceted career spanning over two decades. She is the founder and chief executive officer at Degree Solutions Group LLC, where she also serves as a coach, editor, statistician and researcher. Serving an integral part of the organization since establishing the company in 2005, Dr. Arvidson is dedicated to teaching students the skills they need to be successful, providing developmental editing and imparting tips, shortcuts, and hacks to enhance their efficiency.

In addition to her work at Degree Solutions Group, Dr. Arvidson is the founder and president of The Dissertation Institute, which she established in 2009 and focuses on producing a blog for dissertants. She has also served as the chief financial officer and partner at Rogue Athletics, an athletics facility that offers cheerleading, tumbling and competitive men’s gymnastics for North Dallas and the surrounding areas since 2013.

Before her current positions, Dr. Arvidson spent over a decade in academia as an adjunct professor at several institutions. She initially taught master’s and doctoral-level courses at Dallas Baptist University from 2004 to 2008. She next taught undergraduate and graduate students at the University of North Texas at Dallas in the department of human services and education between 2008 and 2011. Dr. Arvidson also taught psychology courses at Dallas College, Richland Campus, from 2006 to 2011 and served on dissertation committees at Capella University and InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico’s metropolitan campus through 2016. Earlier in her career, she was a learning specialist at UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth from 2007 to 2008 and an orientation coordinator at the University of Texas at Dallas between 1999 and 2000. Dr. Arvidson has also compiled a multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal portfolio featuring public health and higher education research.

Dr. Arvidson received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in math and management from the University of West Florida in 1991, a Master of Science in educational administration from Texas A&M University in 1993, a Master of Science in counseling psychology from the University of Kansas in 1997 and a Doctor of Philosophy in higher education from the University of North Texas in 2004. Additionally, she garnered several professional credentials further underscoring her expertise, including as a certified professional coach and certified NLP coach through the Fowler-Wainwright International Institute of Professional Coaching in 2010 and 2011, respectively, certified career coach through Fowler-Wainwright International Institute of Professional Coaching in 2013 and certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise in 2014.

Beyond her professional roles, Dr. Arvidson has been actively involved with several industry-related organizations, including the Editorial Freelancers Association, the Association for the Study of Higher Education and the American Psychological Association. Her civic engagements include volunteering with animal rescue organizations.

Dr. Arvidson’s accolades include an Outstanding Alumni Award from the Association for the Study of Higher Education in 2005 and a Best Paper Award from the Healthcare Administrators Association in 2008. She attributes her success to authenticity, patience, and genuine care and concern for her clients. As she prepares for future endeavors, Dr. Arvidson aspires to write one or two books and continue promoting The Dissertation Institute to assist individuals with their proposals and dissertations.
