Mr. Kelson, co-owner of 4Ever Young Anti-Aging Solutions in Charlotte with his wife, has made significant strides in the health and wellness industry. His career journey began in professional sports as a player with the New York Jets and San Diego Chargers in the National Football League (NFL) from 1990 to 1992. Following his football career, he transitioned to the insurance sector, where he spent over 26 years with MetLife. He held various roles, including vice president of third-party human resources (HR) technology firms from 2021 to 2023 and president of MetLife Distribution Company from 2012 to 2021. Prior to these positions, he served as director of the sales division from 2005 to 2011. His earlier career included roles at CitiStreet as senior vice president and regional vice president from 2004 to 2005 and regional manager at CitiStreet Associates LLC from 1999 to 2004. His initial foray into the business world began as an insurance agent at Equitable, where he worked from 1995 to 1997, and then as an account executive at Copeland Companies Inc., where he worked from 1997 to 1999.
Prior to his career, Mr. Kelson earned a Bachelor of Science in supervision from Purdue University in 1990 and later obtained a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2006. His academic achievements are complemented by several certifications, including Chartered Financial Consultant®, Chartered Life Underwriter®, Chartered Advisor for Senior Living® from the American College of Education, and Certified Financial Planner® from the Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards Inc. These credentials have been instrumental in his success across various industries.
A member of several industry-related organizations, Mr. Kelson’s commitment to community service is evident through his involvement with civic-minded organizations such as Jack and Jill of America, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Prince Hall Masons, and the Boys and Girls Club. In recognition of his leadership and influence, he was named one of the Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executives by Diversity MBA Magazine in 2009.
Mr. Kelson attributes his success to what he calls his daily fundamentals — a focus on basics at a higher level while maintaining a competitive yet relaxed demeanor. This mindset was instilled by his father, who emphasized organization and focus. Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Kelson enjoys playing golf and traveling with his family. Inspired by his wife’s career in the medical field, he is dedicated to promoting mental and physical wellness through education and services.
