She is also an external leadership coach for the Hispanic/Latino Executive Program at McKinsey & Company, where she facilitates leadership training for Hispanic and Latino professionals. Her expertise in leadership coaching and career strategy has made her a sought-after speaker and author.
Prior to founding ExecutiveBound, Dr. Baro honed her extensive experience in technology management during her tenure at Lord, Abbett & Co., LLC, where she served in various director and leadership roles from 2000 to 2016. These positions included director of the technology program management office, technology strategic planning and digital marketing and product data.
Dr. Baro’s equally accomplished educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in management information systems from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, completed in 2009. She also earned a Master of Science in computer science with a focus on software engineering from the same institution in 1999. Additionally, she obtained a Master of Business Administration in management in 1996 and a Bachelor of Arts in computer science and economics from Rutgers University. Her achievements are even more impressive having arrived in the United States at 14 years old and learning English from scratch.
To augment her knowledge and qualifications, Dr. Baro is a certified professional coach accredited by the International Coaching Federation and has completed numerous programs such as the Women’s Corporate Boards Readiness Program at Santa Clara University, Tony Robbins International’s Business Mastery, and Boldheart Leverage Business. These credentials have further equipped her with the skills necessary to lead transformative initiatives and empower others in the workplace.
Dr. Baro’s civic involvement is extensive, reflecting her dedication to giving back to the community. She serves as the director of board development for the Association of Latino Professionals for America’s (ALPFA) New Jersey Chapter — where her work was recognized with the Rising Star Award in 2024 — and is an ambassador for Women Techmakers. Her philanthropic efforts includes providing ExecutiveBound scholarships to professional women, serving as a faculty member at E-School4Girls, being a mentor and advocate for the Three Doctors Foundation, and sponsoring The Unstoppable Foundation and Feeding America, through which she has provided nearly 50,000 meals since starting her business.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Dr. Baro is a two-time bestselling author with publications such as “Healing Leadership: How to Lead, Love, and Thrive in Business and Life” and “Fearless Women at Work: Five Powerful Strategies to Thrive in Your Career and Life.” She is currently preparing for a TED talk that envisions a future where women can unlock their career potential.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Baro cherishes spending quality time with her family, fitness, and traveling to explore as many parts of the world as possible. Her vision for the future includes contributing to create workplaces where those willing can contribute from a place of strengths, particularly focusing on empowering women, especially women of color, to lead and contribute from senior leadership positions.
