Since 2004, Dr. Johnson has concurrently led The 180 Program Foundation in the role of director. This important initiative is dedicated to assisting educational administrators and school districts to implement effective behavioral support strategies and enhance social-emotional learning. The unique program focuses on comprehensive schoolwide behavioral support and establishing a parent university to promote an understanding of the significance of education. Under Dr. Johnson’s leadership, the foundation equips parents with practical strategies to address the persistent educational achievement gap.

From 2006 to 2008, Dr. Johnson excelled as the community reintegration coordinator and manager at Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit. In this capacity, he worked diligently to facilitate the successful reintegration of individuals into society by providing essential support and resources. Dr. Johnson remained humbled that his efforts contributed meaningfully to advancing the situations of many individuals within the community.

In his important work, Dr. Johnson relies on exceptional academic credentials. He completed a Bachelor of Arts in legal administration from the University of Detroit Mercy and graduated summa cum laude in 2007. He furthered his education with a Master of Arts in liberal arts and sciences from the same institution in 2008 before pursuing a terminal degree. Today, Dr. Johnson holds a Doctor of Philosophy in educational leadership from Gwynedd Mercy University, and his dissertation, titled “Self-Destructive Behavior in Urban Middle School Males as a Predictor of Adult Incarceration,” focused on urban middle school males.

Dr. Johnson attributes his success thus far to several critical factors including overcoming difficult factors as a teenager, self-discipline, effective leadership, a robust value system and adherence to codes of honor. He also credits a strong support network and a commitment to humility, principles that have guided him throughout his career and continue to influence his work today. Beyond his professional endeavors, he continually seeks opportunities for civic engagement and is affiliated with organizations such as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Dr. Johnson also serves on the board of directors for Chance For Life and is a part of Senator Sylvia Santana’s team.

Dr. Johnson is married to Dakita Johnson and is a proud father of one son and one daughter. Looking toward the future, he aims to enhance The 180 Program Foundation’s services by extending them to additional school districts nationwide and exploring opportunities to install franchise operations. Dr. Johnson also plans to publish a significant work detailing his experiences over the past three decades and increase scholarship awards for graduating seniors to facilitate their access to higher education.
