Ms. Williams has established herself as a prominent figure in public policy and administration; diversity, equity and inclusion; strategic planning; and communications. As the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Pittsburgh since 2022, she has been instrumental in supervising various teams within the mayor’s office, including communications, neighborhood services, immigrant and refugee affairs, workforce development, business diversity, and more. Her leadership extends to being the executive author of strategic initiatives, such as the federally designated Workforce Hub, the City’s Procurement Modernization, and the Bloomberg American Sustainable Cities partnership. She also manages Mayor’s Office operations. Under Ms. Williams’s trusteeship, the city’s Comprehensive Municipal Pension Trust Fund saw the adoption of their first Diverse Managers Investment Policy and a subsequent significant increase in minority, women and disadvantaged business enterprise utilization from zero to over 30% within a year. She also was responsible for assembling seven local public partners, the largest consortium in recent local history, to advance the first Pittsburgh Regional Disparity Study in over twenty years.

Prior to joining the mayor’s office, Ms. Williams spent five years at the Hill Community Development Corporation as a programs and policy manager and special assistant to the president and chief executive officer. During this time, she played a critical role in Pittsburgh’s Historic Hill District equitable development initiatives, focusing on rebuilding and restoring the neighborhood while celebrating its cultural heritage. Her efforts included advancing the implementation of a community benefits agreement with a local hockey team, local government, and community partners to support redevelopment.

Ms. Williams’s career began with consulting services after graduating law school, working with government contractors on business development projects, business valuations, and mergers and acquisitions. Early in her career she also interned with a State Representative supporting a community-informed policy agenda. Her legal background as an attorney further underscores her successful professional journey. Although Ms. Williams is not currently practicing law, her expertise continues to inform her work in public policy and administration.

In preparation for her future, Ms. Williams earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics and international studies with a concentration in East Asia, graduating magna cum laude, from Washington & Jefferson College in 2011. Subsequently, she received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from William & Mary in 2014. These educational experiences have provided a strong foundation for Ms. Williams’s career accomplishments.

Ms. Williams is actively involved as the mayor’s representative in several industry-related organizations. She serves on the boards of the Comprehensive Municipal Pension Trust Fund, InvestPGH, Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, Pennsylvania Municipal League, InnovatePGH, and VisitPITTSBURGH. Ms. Williams’s commitment to civic engagement is further demonstrated through her volunteer work on voter engagement, voter turnout, and various electoral and issue campaigns.

Ms. Williams has received numerous accolades, including being named among City & State Pennsylvania’s Power of Diversity: Women 100 in 2022 and one of the Top 50 Women Leaders of Pennsylvania by Women We Admire that same year.
